Well of course there's cat breeds but the term "purebred" is not used with them - they're called PEDIGREED because their lineage can be traced back several generations.
FACT is though, most cats aren't ANY breed - they're simply "domestics" - cats of no particular breed. Cats were domesticated THOUSANDS of years ago and breeds only established in the last 100 or so. So most cats aren't a breed or even a mix of breeds - they're simply domestics.
No clue which "Turkish Van" question you're telling us to go look at. What was said/asked? Most likely someone thinking their cat was a Turkish Van. The Van is a VERY rare breed. You don't stumble upon one - there's very few breeders.
Ok, Santa Percy is just plain wrong here. I realize probably very few people actually read the comments but it's seriously annoying to have such nonsense spewed about. Who would vote for this? Do your research. Pedigree has nothing to do with beinspeciality cat pure breed rescueg "purebred". S/he is just ignorant.
My opinion of this is that breeds are merely man-made things. All cats are essentially of the same species. Therefore, humans decide what a breed is. And they set the rules. So really, breeds are definition and certain experts will say they can decide whether your animal belongs to it or not. And such standards may actually vary from expert to expert.
Well, they crossed Siamese with Pesian and came up with the Himalayan, which bred true. That's how breeds are developed-- the goal is to get all the kittens to breed true to the new form with no throwbacks. Viola--new breed.
Sometimes it's a spontaneous mutation that breeds true -- Devon rex, Cornish rex, Munchkins, American curl and Japanese bobtail are all these. Viola--new breed.
It's up to the Cat Fancy to recognise what a new breed is and to approve it for show, once the basics are sorted out like coat color, bonestructure, ear set, etc. are standardised.
There is no 'myth', it's all laid out in fact.

if you find males and females with no ears. you breed them. the kittens have no ears. you continue to breed. you just developed a breed. this fact will be registered as a breed with the people who show cats.
so, breeds exists.
domestic breed confuses everyone, that might be what you mean. 99 % of cats descended from an African breed of wild cat. they do not have a breed. the term domestic, means no one knows what his parents were. every body thinks their cat is part whatever. and all the purists on here point out, mosts cat do not have a breed. as breeds were developed , in most cases, by man.
one could argue there are no true pure bred cats, as all where combined with other breeds. the only pure bred would be the direct descendants of the African wild cat.

i have a pure bred moggy, a cats a cat in my opinion, its people who are stupid for being told this cat is a pedigree and there for we will charge ￡400 for this cat because it is a pedigree after all. You get short haired cats, long haired cats, some with no hair. Some cats with short legs, cats that grow bigger than the average cat and some with "special" markings and at the end of the day you still end up with a cat. And its all man made, and why? They all have the same thing in common which is people wanting to make a profit, and people fall for it because they think that cat is more special than another, i saw a woman on t.v a few months ago who lived in america who had managed to breed a cat that had no furspeciality cat pure breed rescue and no claws and this to her was "beautiful". The thing looked like it was diseased, the disturbing thing is shes not the only one.

Breeds are man-made, and are "backed up" by pedigree, proving that way back, the animal's parents, grand parents, great grand parents, were that breed. Cats of no particular breed are called moggies or domestic short hairs, dogs are mutts, horses are called grade horses. Man created the breeds for a specific use or look. Nature created the original. Generally are most popular cat breeds revolve around a natural mutation or local variation. You can say that Nature created them also. The Manx, the Siamese, the Signapura, the Turkish Angora, the Siberian - all of these "breeds" were/are naturally occurring variants. People saw them, selectively bred them, and a new "breed" was formed.
Crossing two random breeds of cats does not make a new breed. There are specific rules governing new breeds in both CFA and TICA, and it takes years, careful record keeping, and many breeders to even get a new crossing accepted as a provisional breed - sort of a trial status. That's how Ragdolls became a breed. Most of them sort of go by the wayside, as the "breed" doesn't have enough redeeming features to make it into the mainstream, and it quietly goes away.
So there is a sort of reverse snobbishness with some of the people who don't/won't own purebred cats. The make up such a small portion of the population that it really is the proverbial tempest in the teapot. Energies would be better spent spreading the word about the need to spay and neuter, actually take *care* of the cats that people have, and supporting your local shelter.
I've got all purebreds - Siamese and Cornish Rex - and don't feel the least bit guilty. And I can promise you that with my 15+ years of Siamese rescue work, I've done more to help the general cat population than the people on here putting down those that desire a purebred cat.

They are a breed onto themselves. They have records dating back at least 10 generations and have been selectively bred for the purpose that they serve. And most of the registered breeds of cats certainly never existed as wild cats - they are a result of humans messing with Nature. Breeding is just a polite way of saying abomination.

confusing questions to ask peopleWhy do people ask questions that they dont want the answer to?
It is confusing. People ask questions just so they can hear someone pat them on the back, confirm thier mis-information, or accept wrong information as fact because it sounds good. Why dont they just do 5 minutes of research and find out the truth? The human race is weird.

One who listed all the possible solutions and said he didn't want any of these, I maconfusing questions to ask peoplede a (totally to the point) comment as to his mental capabilities and got a violation from yahoo. ;-)

aol hp homepageI just bought a new HP computer today & I can't get rid of the set AOL HP homepage. Anyone know how?
I have gone under Tools and Internet Options and tried to change the homepage that way and it continues to go back to the AOL HP homepage. I have also gone to the Yahoo homepage and tried to click the link which is suppose to automatically set Yahoo as my homepage, and that also does not work! Did HP put something on the computer to where I can't override the homepage? I have ran spysweeper and everything...please help! I thought it may be my antivirus, which is PC-cillin, but I can't find anything.
Do yourself a BIG favor. Remove anything on your PC that even mentions AOL. It is a resource hog and simply tries to take over your pc.
Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove any AOL programs residing there.
Now click on Start > Search > For Files or Folders > All Files and Folders
type in AOL in the top box and let the computer do a complete search of your hard drive. When it is done, click on Edit at the top of the window and click on Select All
Then click on File and click on Delete. It will ask you if you want to remove them. Click on Yes.
If you want to REALLY finish the job:
NOTE: DON'T DO ANYTHING ELSE IN THE REGISTRY OTHER THAN WHAT I MENTION HERE. If you are not familiar with editing the registry and you do other things you may give yourself some big headaches.
Click on Start > Run >
type in regedit
click once on the very top directory to hilite it.
Hold down Ctrl + F; this will open a search window
type in AOL and then click on Find Next
when it finds an aol hp homepageAOL entry, right click on it and select Delete and yes. (Do this if it is a folder in the left hand pane or if it is an entry in the right hand pane)
Hold down Ctrl + F again and repeat the process until you have cleaned your registry of all AOL items. This may be a very tedious process so hang in there.
When you think you have it all out. Go back up to the top directory in the left pane, hilite it, and search for AOL once again just to make sure you didn't miss any.
Once you are completely done. Reboot your PC. This will reset the registry without all the AOL crap. Now you should be able to reset your home page to yahoo.com without any problems.

While today, we do not have the budget or technology to get to the moon to build a giant telescope and buildings on the moon, one day over the next two decades, United States, Russia, China or a joint effort between the three countries along with other international partners could start to construct buildings or telescopes on the moon.

When I drink my test becomes tight and feels like its burning almost and I feel as if it takes a lot of focus to breath and not pass out. When this happens I have not had that many drinks (usually I'm on only my 2nd or 3rd one.) Is this a common happening?

i understand that with emotions we can feel for others which enhances our chances of survival but why do we need sadness, and other emotions?
I'm guessing that sadness helps us localise what we don't want, which can then tell us what we do want and allow us to pursue that. (For example - my ferret's been depressed because of the new ferrets we've brought home. In the wild, that would tell her to remove the ferrets or find another howhy do we have emotionsme.)
you need all your emotions to make decisions, to learn from mistakes and do make your understanding better. I don't think that without the set of emotions that humans possess that we could have evolved to the state we did.
You need negative emotions to appreciate that a positive one is good, without that balance it wouldn't work

I've been composting for a while in the old back yard, but I also homebrew 啤酒, sake, kefir, and sourdough. After taking a gander at EM concepts, it would appear that it's all a culturing of my hobbies, then chucking them in to finish the job...effectiveness of EM is under debate, but, what would be the effect of tactically culturing the normal compost bacteria, and then adding it back in to the pile? Maybe nutrient broth or just a molasses agar sheet?

moral conceptA good computer game with moral concept?
Hi guys, can anyone tell me a good computer game from this last decade (2000-2009) or from this year that heavily involves RPG and has a morale system that really changes the plot/storyline. I've played Fable and KOTOR, but those already had a story line. I am looking for a game that changes based on your decisiomoral conceptns.
Last Chaos is a fun mmorpg which has 6+ classes and 4+ servers which offers a great amount of fun and you can later graduate to a sub class similar to WoW but free and fun

I don't like spicy things but whenever I eat orange chicken it makes me sweaty and feel icky.
When it comes to orange chicken their really fattening, oily, delicious, sweet, juicy, and just delicious. Everything about it is good so before you start eating it your adrenaline will be pumped with excitement andwhy do sweat so much your body will explode in desperation as you put it in your mouth. This orange chicken high will make you sweat like a pig.

He took back a concert ticket to take another girl. He pushed me aside so he could chase a married woman. He would go for weeks without contacting me, and when he would, I responded, but then he ignored me. He promised to send me a list of concerts and fix my car, but he never did. He was breaking my heart every single day. He might have slightly cared; he was always curious about me. I'm not like other girls, and I think he noticed that. He wanted to get under my skin.
Well, I'm so over him now. I started ignoring him, being cold, acting like he's not even there. I deleted him from Facebook and am very brief with him if he ever spoke to me.
Now, I am directing a play in college. I am one of four directors. The guy auditioned for my show only. To increase his chances of getting cast, he could have auditioned for the other three, but he auditioned for mine only. I didn't cast him in my shwhy did i get married 2 castow.

2- Did I do the right thing by not casting him?

When going to MSN live maps (http://maps.live.com/) all that appears is a loading sign and nothing else. Have looked all over the internet for a solution but found nothing obvious. The only possible factomsn maps liver I notice is that I'm running IE7 with XP. Unfortunately I never tried looking at MSN maps when I had IE6 so I can't really compare. Please can anyone help or has had the same problem.

The next night HHH challenges Ortan and his Legacy in a handicap match which Ortan obviously accepts. Before the match Todd Grisham interviews HHH and talks about the odds being stacked against him. HHH says that he'll be having som help with me.
The match starts but no one comes out so referee starts the match. Legacy and Ortan are closing in on a win and Ortan goes for RKO but then the music hits. Its HBK. He runs down the ramp and gives Ortan a super kick. The show ends withn the winners HBK and HHH.
The next week, Michaels is scheduled to have a non-title match with Ortan.HBK goes for a superkick but fails giving Ortan a chance for RKO, but he misses and hits a table outside the ring making it a dq Ortan wins match. Michaaels then goes out the ring a tries to nail sweet chin music but fails when Legacy comes out. DX are forced to fight Cena because Special host is Ortans father, hall of famer. DX go to his office and tell him that the match isn't gonna happen and give him a DX Goodbye (shoving him on the floor and spray paint saying S*ck it on his face.

I honestly dislike Triple H very much over his months and months of title opportunities (or has the title himself). But I'd pick that HBK loses. Since this could be his final match with Triple H and could be a great match as long Triple H doesn't use politics or buries him. Oh and HBK said he doesn't want anymore title reigns so that maybe couldn't have happened. But still, I liked that idea of making RHodes and Debiase champs (and Ziggler joining Jericho). And I dislike the idea of putting Kennedy because it seems to me, he is over rated.
But yet, Kennedy is least spoken in your whole storyline thing. But the ending paragraphs with the HH chosing and losing seemd to have confused me a little like it went a bit fast with the plot over there. But over all, I liked it and felt that that was worth the actual real wrestling fan's time of his/hers thoughts.
A little change... Vince comes out and says sorry but hes is not going to let his best WWE stars leave WWE but the loser of the match is only moving brands to Smackdown or ECW.
The winner of the match will choose which brand the loser will go to.

If HBK does retire, how bout he finally beats him, but out of sympathy he retires instead of HHH. Just throwing it around because I don't want to see Hunter win another WM after his crap performance at 25.

Everything he owns belongs to his estate - 40% of which is to go to his mother and 40% to his children and the rest to charity. It seems really cut and dry, but Michael owes millions and if he does own this unreleased music then it could very well be used to pay off his debts. Subsequently, whoever comes in possession of these tracks will most likely sell them to the music industry so that they can get their money back and the music producers can release these tracks and get their money back as well.
If these tracks as they stand do not belong to Michael, rather a third party, then we could potentially see these released very soon. They will want to compose them into an album and get them released as soon as possible to they can make a buck off of Michael's death. Red-Bull literally took me from a 20 minute 5k to a 13:30 5k... its the secret that all the pros have got.. and now i've discovered it
12 ounces or less, about 30 minutes before the race.
4.5k is too short to worry about dehydration during the race, so dont drink too much. and NO caffeine or 'energy drinks' like Red Bull, as they can make you sick and throw up during the race.
Don't drink Red Bull, you'll get a sugar rush which will result in your insulin shooting way up which will cause you to crash and loose energy... other than that.
Its actually better to start drinking water 1.5 days before the race.. your body's like a sponge...soak it up w/ water... you should be ablhow fast should i run a 5ke to run the whole 5k w/o feeling thirsty at all if you've properly hydrated... remember you're drinking for what it does for you not for what it taste like... so even if you don't feel thirsty or you don't feel like you need the water.. drink it anyway...because it'll help ya later... I play roller derby and I've seen girhow fast should i run a 5kls who try one for the first time right before a big bout and they totally wig out, but we do play in front of a large crowd so I think that can make it worse. I'd try one and then go run a while and see how it effects you before the big race.

This will give you time for the fluid to go through your system. 10-15 minutes before race time you should try and drink 10-16 oz of sports drink. If you drink the sports drink to early it can cause you to have a sugar crash and you will perform badly.
12 ounces or less, about 30 minutes before the race.
4.5k is too short to worry about dehydration during the race, so dont drink too much. and NO caffeine or 'energy drinks' like Red Bull, as they can make you sick and throw up during the race.
Don't drink Red Bull, you'll get a sugar rush which will result in your insulin shooting way up which will cause you to crash and loose energy... other than that.
Its actually better to start drinking water 1.5 days before the race.. your body's like a sponge...soak it up w/ water... you should be ablhow fast should i run a 5ke to run the whole 5k w/o feeling thirsty at all if you've properly hydrated... remember you're drinking for what it does for you not for what it taste like... so even if you don't feel thirsty or you don't feel like you need the water.. drink it anyway...because it'll help ya later... Seems sort of silly that they gave him this rooted Salem history with Victor, and a mysterious decade long friendship with Carly that resulted in a child (melanie) if he was never mentioned before. Has this happedays of our lives historyned with any other characters?
As far as I can remember he never was mentioned, but they bring characters in and try to show they had a previous connection to someone years ago. I guess they feel if we accept they are supposed to be a part of one of our favorite characters they will blend in be a big part of the storyline. Sometidays of our lives historymes it works, sometimes not so well.
